Daikin were rated best value air conditioning brand across several factors. Its visual appearance and reliability were highly rated and regarded. Daikin air conditioning offer a lot more features but products generally have a higher price tag. They are reliable and energy efficient. Fujitsu offers a range options to deliver comfort to different kinds of environments and spaces. Many of Fujitsu’s units are quipped with a Human Sensor detector, allowing Fujitsu’s Air Conditioning to switch to power saving mode after 20 minutes of no activity. They return to normal operations when movement is detected.

Daikin’s residential units deliver on high performance, with a wide range of easily programmable controllers and Wi-Fi control. Family and allergy friendly, certain units also include a lock system and temperature limits to avoid accidental waste. The Sensitive Choice program has acknowledged Daikin for their air filtration and purification technology. Fujitsu offer a wide array of options to cover different kinds of environments and spaces. Fujitsu have installed with a Human Sensor to detect motion. After 20 minutes of no movement Air Conditioning units will switch to power saving mode, saving energy until movement is detected again.

Split Systems

Daikin has 8 main ranges of split system including the US7 Series; Zena Series; Cora Series; Alira Series; Daikin Lite Series; Nexura Series and Floor Standing Series. This range covers for all types of small and larger homes, able to provide comfort in the varied Australian climates. Daikin’s split systems are energy efficient, with controller options offering high-tech features. 

Fujitsu has 4 different types of split systems including Classic Series, Designer Series, Lifestyle Series (Cooling only) and Lifestyle Series (Heating and Cooling).

Fujitsu’s units efficiently cool or heating a single room and feature a number of energy efficient solutions, making utility bills more affordable, with up to 30% more efficiency than conventional fixed speed units. Fujitsu’s units suit various spaces with differing capacity requirements. They are allergy friendly, harnessing static electricity to pull pollutants from the air. 


Overall, we rated Daikin's range at 4.5 out of 5 and Fujitsu’s range at 4 out of 5. These scores take into account reliability, energy efficiency, affordability, breadth of systems, kW capacities, features and other important factors. Ducted Systems

Daikin has 4 main ducted ranges, including: Premium Inverter Ducted Series; Inverter Ducted Series; Slim-Line Ducted Series; Bulkhead Ducted System Series. Daikin’s ducted series are compact and efficient. The new inverter series is specifically designed to fit into tight roof spaces in any modern home or apartment. Their bulkhead systems fit in discretely with surrounding décor with the controller, return air and discharge grilles the only parts visible inside a home.

Fujitsu’s Cassette Range units are available in high and low capacities. They are built to be discreet; fitting under the ceiling with only the grille showing. These cassettes are designed to deliver an even temperature distribution and wide airflow. Energy consumption can be controlled without loss of comfort, using a weekly timer, sleep timer and economy mode. Fujitsu’s cassette units have a removable grille and louvres that can be wiped down, making cleaning easy.

Our team rated Daikin's range at 4 out of 5 and Fujitsu’s cassette range rated at 3.5 out of 5. Both Daikin and Fujitsu deliver solutions for smaller spaces.

Hydronic Heating Systems

Providing heating, cooling and hot water for the kitchen, laundry, showers and baths, the Altherma Bi-Bloc Hydronic Heating Series is Daikin’s Hydronic system. This system offers energy efficiency, cutting energy costs and needing less space, as a gas system isn’t required. Handy for houses with limited outside space, the hydrobox can be positioned inside the house. We rated Daikin's Hydronic Heating range at 3.5 out of 5 overall.

Multi-Systems

Daikin offer outdoor centralised units VRV IV-S and SUPER MULTI NX (R32), which are ideal for apartment buildings where external space is at a minimum. Only one unit is needed to control multiple inside air conditioning units. The VRV IV-S multi-systems can cover large spaces of 14 rooms while the SUPER MULTI NX (R32) can heat or cool up to 5 rooms. Daikin’s version of multi-system units also have purification and sensors, depending on the inside unit. Overall, we rated Daikin’s range at 4 out of 5.

Fujitsu feature 2.3kW to 6.8kW Inverter Multi and Multi System Series, which were rated 4 out 5 by our review team. These can be matched to a range of indoor units, making it easy to find the best air conditioner to suit your space. Fujitsu’s multi systems have energy saving settings, cutting down on electricity. Individual rooms can be heated or cooled separately; meaning rooms not in use can have their units off. This range offers combinations to suit most residential spaces

Air Purifiers

Daikin’s portable air purifiers are suitable for spaces up to 46m². These units quickly remove pollutants such as bushfire pollution using a turbo mode, reduce the triggers for allergies and asthma. The purifier displays contaminant and odour levels on the unit, utilising a 6-layer filtration system to deodorise and purify the air.

High airflow rates allow Daikin’s air purifying units to work effectively in both small and large spaces. For the Air Purifier Series we rated Daikin range at 4.5 out of 5.

Smart Control Solutions

Using Daikin’s app on a smart phone you can control and monitor air conditioning usage or turn the system on and off remotely, which is especialy helpful if you’ve left the house and realise you’ve left the air conditioning or heating on. The app allows users to program air conditioning around your lifestyle, meaning you can set it to pre-cool or heat, allowing you to come home to a comfortable environment. Our review team rated Daikin’s smart control solutions 4.5 out of 5.

Fujitsu’s new General Lifestyle units now have a built-in wireless LAN interface. This allows users to control comfort of their home or office remotely, as you can with Daikin’s app.

Ceiling/Floor Console Range

Fujitsu’s Ceiling/Floor Console Range is designed to discretely fit into homes that may not have wall space for multi and split systems. The floor consoles provide easy access and thereby maintenance for the users. Quiet and energy efficient, Fujitsu offers a wide capacity range of 2.6kW to 14.0 kW, to suit differing climates.

Daikin and Fujitsu have developed commercial products that can be used in environments as diverse as hotels, schools, apartment blocks, health centres and shopping centres. Both offer a support network to help clients select the right combination of systems to meet their needs.

Air Stage VRF Systems

Fujitsu’s Air Stage VRF Systems offer high capacity options in the J-III Series J-IIS Series V-II Series VR-II Series ranges. Fujitsu have been developing these energy efficient systems for over more than 35 years, utilising state of the art technology to deliver products that can provide the most comfortable environment possible. This range covers a diverse range of projects and was rated a 4 out of 5 by our review team.

Split Systems

Daikin offers options to meet a range of commercial needs, from kitchens to retail outlets.  Super Multi NX (R32) L-Series, DTXF-T Series, Cora Series, Daikin Lite, Floor Standing Series, Nexura Series (Floor Standing) and US7 Series. They come in wall mounted or floor standing options, depending on which is most appropriate for one room or a large area in a commercial building.

Fujitsu’s commercial split system units have an energy saving setting that allows the set temperature of the indoor unit to change by just one degree intervals. This limits the maximum energy usage of the air conditioner. Their selection offers the same diversity as their residential range, incorporating the Classic Series, Designer Series, Lifestyle Series (Cooling only) and Lifestyle Series (Heating and Cooling). Offering a diverse range of capacities these units have a wide range of applications for both small and larger spaces from a small office to a boardroom. The unit filters feature catechin, which is highly effective against bacteria growth, thus making the air cleaner for workers, customers and other visitors.

Both Fujitsu and Daikin offer an impressive range of choice in this area. Fujitsu has a slight advantage on price in this series and their catechin filters are remarkable in providing both clean air and comfort. Overall, the review team rated Daikin and Fujitsu's ranges at 4 out of 5.

Cassette Systems

Part of their Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) range as below Daikin’s commercial ducted units have a variety of capacities up to 16.0 kW, making them appropriate for a wide range of spaces.

Fujitsu’s Cassette Range is discrete, sitting under the ceiling with only the grille showing, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings. The use of a weekly timer, sleep timer and economy mode helps maintain control of your energy consumption without loss of comfort. Maintenance of these cassettes is convenient; they are easy to clean, with a removable grille and louvres that can be wiped down.
Fujitsu cassette units also deliver an even temperature distribution and wide airflow.

Of the two, Daikin provides a cheaper option but Fujitsu’s energy saving features may even this out. Overall, both Fujitsu and Daikin’s range were rated 4 out of 5.

Multi Systems

Fujitsu’s multi systems can be connected to a compact outdoor unit to power up to six indoor units simultaneously, with independent control. There are also 14 models ranging in capacity from 2.3kW to 6.8kW, meaning there's a combination to suit almost any need in commercial spaces. Fujitsu’s Inverter Multi and Multi System Series also remain energy efficient when operating just one indoor unit at low capacity. These ranges were rated 4 out of 5.

Fujitsu’s VRF systems offer a wide range of options to suit everything from small office spaces to large-scale buildings, across any kind of environment in Australia. Some series can cool one side of a building while the other utilises heating.

VRV Systems

Offering climate management solutions for a commercial environment are the main feature of Daikin’s VRV systems. This group encompasses units such as Gas Heat Pump Outdoor Unit, VRV Air Handling Unit Series, VRV H Heat Pump, VRV III-Q Outdoor Unit, VRV IV Water Cooling Outdoor Unit and the VRV IV-S. Delivering energy efficiency, and control, these are designed to work with indoor units on large sites, for example shopping malls and office blocks etc. These units are built to handle higher capacities in order to cover larger spaces and were rated at 4 out of 5.

VRV Indoor Units

Featuring 18 different options including wall mounted, bulkhead, cassettes and are processing units, Daikin’s VRV Indoor Units are designed to work in a commercial space. Perfect in spaces requiring specific climates; for example in libraries and museums, up to 64 of these units can be connected to a single system. Overall, this part of Daikin's range was given a score of 4 out of 5. Together the units can build a tailored solution for new properties or refurbishments

Ceiling/Floor Console Ran

Fujitsu’s Ceiling/floor console range is designed for homes without the wall space for multi and split systems. These units can be installed on the floor or under the ceiling, with the floor consoles providing easy access for the user.

Controllers

Featuring an iTouch Manager Centralised Controller, Individual control systems and BACNet / LonWorks Interface, Daikin offer a wide range of centralised controllers for larger systems.

These control zone behaviour, offer weekly programming and can be adjusted to account for holiday periods when spaces may be unoccupied. Programming can reduce both energy consumption and wear and tear. Individual controllers and optional Wi-Fi control are available for smaller spaces with interfaces for large systems that have many units connected all at once. We rated Daikin's range at 4.5 out of 5 overall.

Applied Solutions

Daikin’s flexible range of chillers, including Air Cooled Chillers and Water Cooled Chillers, are engineered to deliver precise control of process cooling and climate management.

These chillers meet differing commercial requirements, providing simplicity and low cost solutions. There is a range of different sizes and ways to control an indoor environment. Our team rated Daikin's range of applied solutions at 3.5 out of 5.

Light Commercial Applications

Designed to be used in smaller commercial spaces like shops, restaurants and small offices, Daikin’s Light Commercial Applications feature energy saving functions, with wide-angle airflow and long air throwing capabilities that reach all parts of the room receive. With solutions including Ceiling Suspended Sky Air, Fully Flat Cassette SkyAir, Round Flow Cassette SkyAir, and Wall Mounted SkyAir we rated Daikin's light commercial range at 4 out of 5.

Packaged Systems

Daikin have developed packaged systems such as the Rooftop packaged unit to suit commercial applications. Daikin’s range of Rooftop Packaged Units are designed for easy installation and can be expanded as necessary. They include a powder coated drain pan for corrosion resistance and a neat appearance. Our team rated these Packaged Systems with 4 out of 5.
