Commencing in 1935 in Japan, by 2007 Fujitsu had developed a reputation for customer satisfaction, cornering more than 25% of Australia’s air conditioning market. Fujitsu has a range options to deliver comfort, with many of their units equipped with a Human Sensor detector they are currently our top rated brand, with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

Hisense only recently entered the air conditioning market, on the back of their successful TV and other appliance ranges. They have put out a small range of residential solutions that have been designed specifically to counter harsh Australian conditions. This range includes essentials such as smart technology and easy to use controls. Hisense’s range is currently limited to split system residential units, while Fujitsu offer systems for both the residential and commercial markets. However, Hisense offer the cheapest options for split systems, placing them in our top 5 recommended brands, with an overall rating of 4 out of 5.

Fujitsu offer an array of climate control solutions covering different kinds of environments and spaces. Fujitsu units have a Human Sensor installed to detect motion. This means that after 20 minutes of no movement within the room the Air Conditioning units will switch to power saving mode, saving energy until movement is detected again.

Hisense’s residential range has been designed to provide comfort under the harsh conditions of the Australian climate. Built to endure, Hisense’s units are easy to operate and maintain, with filters that can be easily removed, cleaned and replaced by users, saving the cost of calling in a technician.

Split Systems

Fujitsu has 4 types of split systems including; Classic Series, Designer Series, Lifestyle Series (Cooling only) and Lifestyle Series (Heating and Cooling).
These units efficiently cool or heat a single room and feature a number of energy efficient solutions. This makes utility bills more affordable, with up to 30% more efficiency than conventional fixed speed units. Fujitsu’s units suit various spaces with differing capacity requirements. They are allergy friendly, harnessing static electricity to pull pollutants from the air. Our review team rated them 4 out of 5.

Hisense’s Reverse Cycle Split System and Cooling only split systems were given a rating of 3.5 out of 5, which is a solid score for their first foray into air conditioning. Hisense’s range offers three capacity choices for each configuration. These units also deliver allergy friendly comfort, fitted with filters that can reduce the generation of bacteria and disease. Hisense’s quiet mode is ideal for those working at home or new parents trying to encourage a peaceful night’s sleep.

While limited compared to Fujitsu in terms of format, Hisense’s units are still a solid choice when looking for a unit that can navigate harsh conditions.
