To conserve energy, many of Fujitsu’s units are equipped with a Human Sensor detector. This switches to power saving mode after 20 minutes of no detected activity. Normal operations resume again when movement is detected.

Mitsubishi Electric’s range covers both commercial and residential solutions. They produce air conditioning units with environmental features including increased energy efficiency and environmentally friendly refrigerants. Their quiet operating mode is ideal for bedrooms. Mitsubishi Electric’s units have a streamlined design with a dual barrier coating to reduce dust and greasy dirt from collecting in the air conditioner, making cleaning and maintenance simpler.

Fujitsu’s residential range is diverse, with a line-up of solutions to cover many kinds of environments and spaces. Fujitsu have installed their units with a Human Sensor to detect motion. After 20 minutes of no movement Air Conditioning units will switch to power saving mode, saving energy until movement is detected again.

Mitsubishi Electric’s residential range offers waste reduction via an ‘Econo-Cool’ airflow, allowing set temperatures to be raised by 2ºC providing a 20% gain in efficiency while delivering consistent comfort. Mitsubishi Electric’s multi series can run up to eight indoor units per outdoor unit. They are designed to be extremely versatile, affordable and efficient.

Split Systems

Fujitsu’s split system range includes Classic Series, Designer Series, Lifestyle Series (Cooling only) and Lifestyle Series (Heating and Cooling). Fujitsu’s units can cool or heating a single room efficiently. They feature a number of energy efficient solutions that can make utility bills more affordable. These solutions can deliver up to 30% more efficiency than conventional fixed speed units. Fujitsu’s units are allergy friendly, harnessing static electricity to pull pollutants from the air. This range suits various spaces with differing capacity requirements.

Mitsubishi Electric’s units feature an anti-corrosion treatment and are energy efficient, with an environmentally friendly refrigerant. Their capacity ranges from low to high. The range features 4 units including the MSY-GN, MSZ-AP MSZ-EF and MSZ-LN. The MSZ-EF series is unique in providing three colour choices to suit stylish homes.

Ducted Systems

Offering both high and low capacities, Fujitsu’s Cassette Range units are built to be discreet; fitting in and under the ceiling, with only the grille showing. The cassettes are designed to deliver even temperature distribution and wide airflow. A weekly timer, sleep timer and economy mode help users control energy consumption without loss of comfort. Cleaning is easy and convenient, with a removable grille and louvres that can be wiped down.

Mitsubishi Electric’s ducted systems are user friendly, with touch-button climate control. They provide an ideal solution for multiple room applications, with zone selection available if required. Designed for installation in ceiling spaces. Mitsubishi Electric’s unobtrusiveness and power make them appropriate for use in large residences with the flexibility of easy installation. The five available units are available up to 22kW. They include the PEA-M100-125-140GAA, PEA-M100-125-140HAA, PEA-RP170, PEA-RP250WHA, and PEAD-M-JAAD models that are designed to operate quietly both day and night.

For ducted systems, we rated both Mitsubishi Electric's and Fujitsu’s range at 3.5 out of 5. Both brands deliver great solutions for smaller spaces.

Multi-Systems

Rated 4 out 5 by our review team, Fujitsu have a 2.3kW to 6.8kW Inverter Multi and Multi System Series. These can be matched to a range of indoor units, making it easier to find the best system to suit your requirements. These multi systems feature energy saving settings, to curb energy consumption. Rooms not in use can have their units turned off, with individual rooms heated or cooled separately.

Mitsubishi Electric’s Multi-Systems also connect to a number of indoor units. They feature Wi-Fi capacity and an efficient DC motor. These systems are Intelligent, and can monitor changes in room temperature to maintain comfortable. There are 8 different units available from Mitsubishi Electric with capacities from 5.2kW up to 15.5kW.

Fujitsu and Mitsubishi Electric provide a diverse range of choice in terms of space saving solutions, with a variety of compatible indoor units that have advanced features and controls. Both companies were rated 4 out 5 for their multi-systems, indicating they both offer solid options in this area.

Console Split System

Simply designed and easy to install, Mitsubishi Electric’s Console Split System MFZ-KJ-VE features a simple controller, self-diagnosis, energy efficiency and high capacities. A Weekly Timer lets users control energy consumption via temperature settings and On/Off control. The smoothed surface design fits all types of interiors and feature an efficient and environmentally conscious refrigerant. Overall our review team rated Mitsubishi Electric’s Console Split Systems an overall 3 out of 5.

Ceiling Mounted System

Mitsubishi Electric’s inverter technology delivers cooling and heating at high-speed, with a compact and whisper quiet operation from 2 models: MLZ-KP Ceiling Cassette and SLZ-KF. Compared to non-inverter models they have a bonus of extra energy savings. These units are ideal for master bedrooms, living rooms and other single rooms, particularly where wall space is not available and/or where ducted systems are not an option.

Bulkhead AC

Mitsubishi Electric’s bulkhead air conditioners have a Compact design of only 200 mm high, making them a good choice in limited installation space situations; for example when there is a lack of wall space or concrete ceilings in apartments.

With a rating of 3.5 out of 5, the quiet operation of the SEZ-KD model makes it ideal for bedrooms, living rooms and other single room residential uses. A 7-day programmable remote controller gives users control, while an air-cleaning filter reduces pollutants.

Ceiling/Floor Console Range

Fujitsu have designed a Ceiling/Floor Console Range that fits discretely into homes without the space for wall units. Fujitsu offer a wide capacity range of 2.6kW to 14.0 kW, that is quiet and energy efficient, to suit differing climates. Their commercial air conditioners are designed to be reliable, quiet and energy efficient.

Split Systems

Featuring an energy saving setting that allows the set temperature of the indoor unit to change by just one degree intervals, Fujitsu’s split system range limits the energy usage of the air conditioner. Their commercial split systems offers the same range of choice as their residential range, incorporating the Classic Series, Designer Series, Lifestyle Series (Cooling only) and Lifestyle Series (Heating and Cooling). Offering high capacity options Fujitsu’s Air Stage VRF Systems include the J-III Series J-IIS Series V-II Series VR-II Series ranges. These energy efficient systems have been developed by Fujitsu for over 35 years, utilising state of the art technology, with the aim of delivering products delivering the most comfortable environment possible. This range is impressively diverse and was rated a 4 out of 5 by our review team.

Wall mounted

Mitsubishi Electric produce 3 large capacity wall mounted air conditioning systems; PKA-M71/100KAL 7.1-10kw, PKFY-P VBM and PKFY-P VKM-E. With capacities of up to 14kW the units work well for office and retail spaces.

Their elegant and compact design is complemented by easy maintenance and freedom of installation, with drain water easily discharged easily even if there is no direct outside access. Overall, our review team rated Mitsubishi Electric’s range at 4 out of 5.

Cassette Systems

Fujitsu have designed their Cassette Range to be discrete, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings. A weekly timer, sleep timer and economy mode maintains control of your energy consumption without loss of comfort. These cassettes are easy to clean, with a removable grille and louvres that can be wiped down.

VRF Indoor Units

An energy efficient large-scale air conditioning application, Mitsubishi Electric’s VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) series features simultaneous heating / cooling and high capacity options that are appropriate for large commercial spaces such as shopping centres, apartments, hotels, motels and other commercial sites.

Mitsubishi Electric have utilised smart technology in their VRF units, so data can be downloaded via USB. The system offers self-diagnosis and maintenance alerts, with an easily activated emergency backup function, which will operate for 4 hours. For this range Mitsubishi Electric received a rating of 4 out of 5.

Floor Standing

Mitsubishi Electric’s floor standing series is designed for optimum air distribution - It has a removable front panel that is easy to clean, reducing maintenance and maintaining the unit’s efficiency. There are 4 units in the series including the Concealed - PFFY-P VLRM(M)-E, PFFY-P VKM-E2, PFFY-P VLEM-E and PFFY-WP-VLRMM-E Floor Console.

Easy to install, floor standing units offer heating and cooling with a sophisticated design, particularly for spaces where wall space maybe limited. For this series Mitsubishi Electric were rated 3 out of 5.

Controllers and Interfaces

Mitsubishi Electric’s offer a total of 8 controllers and interfaces that can be customised to a customer’s needs. Mitsubishi Electric’s systems allow energy data files to be uploaded, control up to 50 units, and interfaces with touch screens.

Controllers can oversee zone behaviour, program behaviour on a weekly schedule, or account for holiday periods when spaces may be vacant. This helps to reduce unnecessary wear and tear. Mitsubishi Electric’s can also offer interfaces for large systems that have many units connected all at once. Overall, we Mitsubishi Electric’s 4 out of 5.

Applied Solutions

Mitsubishi Electric offers two different ranges of chillers; the e-series Range and Climaveneta brand. Within these there are four different models including the Climaveneta - ERACS2-Q, Climaveneta - i-FX-Q2 CA, Climaveneta - NECS-WQ Water source and E-Series Modular Chillers. The e-series modular chiller delivers efficiency and wide operating range while the Climaveneta range offers energy-saving but high capacity and low-noise.

Ceiling Suspended

Where floor or wall space cannot be used practically ceiling suspended units can deliver comfortable air conditioning for a wide range of low to high capacity applications. Mitsubishi Electric offers two models, the PCA-M50/60/71/100/125/140KA and PCFY-P VKM-E, with capacities between 4.5kW and 14.0kW. The PCFY series features a single air outlet that facilitates air being automatically distributed more evenly to every corner of the room.

For this range Mitsubishi Electric were rated at 3.5 out of 5.

Ceiling Concealed

Mitsubishi Electric’s ceiling concealed system features includes a washable filter, precise temperature control, a higher performing refrigerant in R410A and for some models an ultra low height. There are 6 models in the range including PEFY-WP-VMS1-E, PEFY-P VMH-E-F, PEFY-P VMH(S)-E, PEFY-P VMR-E-L_R, PEFY-P VMS1(L)-E and PEFY-WP-VMA-E.

In terms of cost savings the maintenance for some of these units can be performed through an easy to use access door. For their flexible features Mitsubishi Electric’s discrete Ceiling Concealed range was rated at 3.5 out of 5.

Ceiling Cassette

With an “i-see sensor” installed for certain units, Mitsubishi Electric’s Ceiling Cassettes are designed to be compact, allowing simple installation and easy maintenance. ceiling cassettes offer fresh air duct facility and an “i-see sensor” in for certain units. There are 4 different models including 4 Way Flow PLFY-P VBM-E, 4 Way Flow PLFY-P VCM-E, PLA-M71/100/124/140EA and PMFY-P VBM-E.

The sensor assists in delivering gentle cooling as it can check the temperature difference at the top and bottom of a room, leading to precise comfort control. For this range Mitsubishi Electric’s Ceiling Cassette range was rated at 4 out of 5.

Ceiling/Floor Console Range

Designed for homes with limited wall space for multi and split systems Fujitsu’s Ceiling/floor console range can be installed on the floor or under the ceiling. The floor consoles provide easy access for the user in terms of maintenance and installation.

Working through a Power PC Platform, these systems are easy to install and can support multiple power options. Mitsubishi Electric was given a rating of 4 out of 5 for this range by our review team.
