The compact design of the unit allows for installation where space is limited, such as in kitchens, nurseries or small apartments.
Algorithms direct the unit to determine the best operating mode and optimum temperature settings automatically, adjusting the inverter frequency for maximum comfort.
The unit can operate at a slightly reduced capacity, reducing energy consumption while maintaining a comfort.
Defrosting is automatically activated during colder temperatures to prevent the outdoor heat exchanger from frosting up.
Self-cleaning mode can dry filters and indoor units, preventing the growth of mould.
A 15 minute power boost can quickly heat or cools your home before returning to normal operation.
An internal microcomputer automatically runs a diagnostic assessment of the unit. This can assist technicians in identifying what has gone wrong and where.

This unit is so quiet that I think it is comparable to a ducted system for noise. On cooling flat out it uses 350W of power. To put that into perspective, that is 3.5 old fashioned 100W light bulbs. How can this unit be so efficient, so quiet, and so cheap to purchase? I installed mine myself. I was extremely careful not to vent any gas to atmosphere when disconnecting my gauges and vacuum pump, by raising the charge pressure in the interconnecting piping to only just above atmospheric pressure when I disconnected the gauges, and was super diligent with my flares and jointing. I’m an electrician by trade and a mechanical engineer by profession and I am astounded by this little unit. I have a large Panasonic room air conditioner about 9 years old in my living room, which is just so noisy and inefficient. I bought this new 2kW Mitsubishi unit for our bedroom after reading the Choice Magazine review, but ended up installing in the kitchen which faces west. It has transformed our house. The big 8 kW unit in my living room used to struggle badly in very hot weather, but this little 2 kW doesn’t struggle in a room that is just over half the size. It also uses less than 1/8 th the power for allegedly 1/4 the capacity. I actually think it is under rated. I have had this new one for about a year now, and I’ve toyed with the idea of installing two of these in my living room as I just cannot get over their quietness, reliability, and efficiency. My biggest fear is this model being put out to pasture and being replaced with something that is inferior. Mitsubishi should be selling these by the million. Just amazing.
Quick installation. Got one of these bad boys this year and kept me cool in summer and has never failed to keep me warm in winter. However, its long start-up time for heating is a possible detriment. Nonetheless, great product, many features, easy to use, quiet and aesthetically pleasing. 8/10
Got two of those units a year apart. I totally fed up with high power prices and how much heating/cooling cost. So, I was looking for the small, reliable and power efficient unit. Not sure about now, but a couple of years ago, when I stumbled upon this model I could not find any other brand making any more or perhaps same energy efficient units of that size. Out of 6 energy efficiency stars this unit is rated 5.5 stars for heating and 6 for cooling. No kidding, if your house is insulated well and this unit run in economy mode, not only it cools down/heats up well, but also consumes a little more power than your good sized pedestal fan.
So far we’re using both AC a lot in the middle of the winter and summer, no faults or complaints.
I think this is the first air conditioner in my life that I don’t switch on and think about upcoming power bill.
Very pleased so far with unit performance and efficiency claim.
